The weather here in Denver has been so warm and sunny lately, we can literally feel spring right around the corner. Yet, less than a month ago, we were driving kiddos in below zero temperatures. Transporting the Brave can be a lot like Colorado’s weather sometimes – we have to take the highs with the lows. We drive some kiddos to appointments where they get to ring the “last chemo” bell, and we drive others who have years of treatment ahead of them. We listen to kids’ excitement as they tell us how they get to go back to school, and we listen to their sadness as they try to process their pain and sacrifice. Since we last sent an update, we’ve shared in the joy of our brave rider Miss S (pictured above with assistant Mr. B) finally getting to go home after months of being in Denver for treatment. And, just last month, we sadly marked nine years without our inspiration, our sweet Daniel the Brave.
The world has been through so many highs and lows this past year. As we approach a new season full of warmth and growth, our wish is for you all to find the kind of hope our brave riders inspire in us every day. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being with us throughout our highs and lows. Your support and generosity keep us going, and we appreciate every one of you.
Please stay tuned for a special Transporting the Brave milestone coming up in April.
