I was the first “kid” that Daniel’s Care Van helped. I was thought of for this amazing program by a social worker because I was 24, therefore old enough to give Jeri hopefully an easier time at first. I cannot begin to explain how much Daniel’s Care Van and Jeri Jones has helped me but I will try. I am a 25 year old leukemia survivor and recently had a bone marrow transplant. This means that I have a lot of doctor’s appointments that I am unable to drive to myself. My mom takes me to as many as she can but she has a full time job and can only bring me to one or two times a week.
Ordinarily I have two or three appointments a week. Usually Daniel’s Care Van or Jeri, picks me up from my home, all the way near Boulder, and takes me to Children’s Hospital Colorado where my cancer doctors are in Aurora. Jeri is always a delight to talk to and she is one of the most amazingly good people I have ever met in my life. She simply wants to help anyone she can and does so. Not only does she run Daniel’s Care Van on the business side but she also does all the driving the majority of the time. I really appreciate all that Daniel’s Care Van has done for me and that has been so much more than I could have dreamed of.
