November Update

December 1, 2016 By Daniel's Care Van

Transporting the BraveIt’s hard to believe 2016 is almost over! Every day, and especially this time of year, we are so grateful to be able to continue our mission of #TransportingTheBrave. Last month, we drove over 700 miles helping brave fighters get to and from their outpatient appointments.

Remembering Brittany

Please keep the family of our very first rider, Brittany, in your thoughts. Brittany was taken by leukemia on November 25th. When we started Daniel’s Care Van, we knew it would come with heartbreak sometimes. That’s the reality of childhood cancer. While we will miss Brittany terribly, we will continue our mission – not in spite of our sorrow, but inspired by it. Every mile we drive honors the fighters taken too soon. From her smile and her laugh and to her navigation skills while riding in the passenger seat Brittany will forever remain Jeri’s dedicated co-pilot.

Daniel’s Sparkly Lights

Holiday decorating that started with Daniel’s own IV pole has now become a Christmastime tradition for Daniel’s Care Van. We deliver battery-operated lights to children with cancer who are inpatient at Children’s Hospital Colorado and the Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children. Each year Novelty Lights donates battery operated LED lights and we give them to the Oncology floor at Children’s Hospital and Rocky Mtn. Hosp. for Children. With these lights the kids can decorate their IV poles or the room during the holidays. The kids love these lights and we love giving them in Daniel’s honor. If you’d like to donate batteries or other items for the gift bags, please contact us.

Volunteer Drivers Needed

Daniel’s Care Van is looking to expand our volunteer driver program. If you have a clean driving record and have availability and a desire to transport the cutest kids in the world please follow this link and tell us a little about yourself. We are really in need of someone to help out bringing our kids from the Longmont and Loveland area down to Aurora for treatment.

Thank You Donors!

Daniel’s Care Van is supported completely through donations. Thank you to everyone who has donated to keep us on the road, including Coloradoland Tires who donated tires for our van. We could not do this without all of you! Click here to donate today.
