Yesterday is the day I had in mind when I first envisioned Daniel’s Care Van. I dropped off the child, his mother, and sister at 8:30 in the morning for his day of chemo. We did not leave the hospital until 5:15 in the afternoon – that is an 8 hours and 45 minute appointment! Think about that. That is a full work day for a lot of people; and yet this little kiddo spent that day receiving a chemo that takes 7 hours to administer.
At the end of his day, DCV was there to make sure they made it home. Yes, it took us over 50 minutes in afternoon traffic, but the bus route would have taken 1 hour and 50 minutes. All while this child was feeling the after effects of his chemo.
This is what Daniel’s Care Van set out to do, and what we want to continue to do: Help these children and their parents get to and from their appointments. It is that simple.
Please consider making a donation so that Daniel’s Care Van can continue to grow and help more children today and in the future.
