2020 has started off strong here at Daniel’s Care Van, and we’re busy with new brave kids and young adults, like B featured to the right, as well as kiddos we’ve been helping for many years. We’re also getting ready for our annual summer fundraising event. This year, we’re moving from kickball fields to indoor sand volleyball courts. We’ll continue the tradition of a fun and family-friendly event with a tournament and silent auction, but we’ll be spicing it up a bit with a full cash bar and faster paced games. Save the date for the afternoon of Saturday, July 11th! Registration will open soon.
Here at Daniel’s Care Van, we ended 2019 driving a few new brave kiddos and delivering Daniel’s Sparkly Lights before Christmas. This year, we’re so honored to have expanded the Sparkly Lights program to young adults battling cancer through an alliance with the Small Choices Foundation. See pictures below. We’re looking forward to 2020 and we’re so grateful to have you all along for the ride. Please consider us in your plan for charitable giving in the new year. Every little bit helps to keep us on the road Transporting the Brave!
GivingTuesday is a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. As the holiday shopping season gets into full swing, GivingTuesday is an opportunity to re-direct some of the season’s spending toward charitable causes.
Give the Gift of Transportation
A small gift of just $25 can provide a ride to a child or young adult cancer patient who needs a safe and reliable way to get to their treatment appointments. On this GivingTuesday, consider sponsoring one of Daniel’s Care Van’s brave riders.
Our Brave Riders Thank you!
With Thanksgiving just a few days away, we wanted to take a moment to list a few things we’re grateful for this year and every year.
1) First and foremost, we’re grateful for every brave rider we drive. If we had one wish, it would be that there would be no need for what we do — that kids would not get sick in the first place. Until that time comes, we’re grateful for the opportunity to make a difference.
What a month Transporting the Brave! Our brave riders have kept us very busy in all sorts of weather. We did 22 runs last month, with three done by volunteer drivers. Our schedule includes several kiddos who are actively in treatment, in recovery from bone marrow transplant, or going to off-treatment follow ups. Every one of our young riders faces challenges in their fight against cancer, and we’re honored to help alleviate at least one worry for them.
